Some of you may recognize my name others not. I have been affiliated with Interior Quakers for 15 years now, originally from Manitoba and Winnipeg Meeting. I have spent most of my time as an Isolated Friend, most of the time as I was ranching and lately due to Covid. I am letting you know I am moving to Alhambra Alberta near Rocky Mountain House to be closer to my daughters family and grandchildren. They are now at an interesting age (young teenagers) and I do not wish to be so far away. Seeing that my nearest Meetings are in either Calgary or Edmonton I will no doubt remain an Isolated Friend.
I was excited to see that in person Meetings were to begin again but saddened to see double vaccinations were needed. As a believer of freedom of speech, thought and conscience I realize this is a decision made by Meetings but I wonder when Christ allowed Lepers in his presence and other diseased folk how this weighs on the hearts of other members, whether vaccinated or not. This form of separation, vaccine apartheid if you will, is very distressing for me, coming from a country that suffered sectarian violence between two groups. I will be holding this concern in the Light for some time to come.
I wish all Friends well. "Mind how you go" as we used to say.
